James teaches Irish, old time, bluegrass and swing fiddle styles. He also teaches classical violin. He took his Suzuki teacher training from Mark Bjork at the U of M. Other instruments he teaches are mandolin and harmonica. He teaches at Homestead Pickin' Parlor in Richfield and at his home studio in Southwest Minneapolis.
