Jim Price

Jim Price started classical training at age 7, started teaching when he was 15, and majored in Jazz at Indiana University. As a teacher and performer, Jim is proficient in many styles. Jim states, "Adding and assimilating different styles of playing has been essential to my career as a professional freelance player." He is in demand as a fiddle contest judge and MC, and his students are perennial contest favorites.

He is also sought for recording and composing skills, at one time producing a national educational curriculum for elementary student musicians (Kapers for Kids.) This year Jim is launching a new composition for violin solo, narrator and orchestra: "Violin Story: World's Fair Exposition."
