David Stenshoel has played music professionally since 1975, performing with bands in many styles over the years, including Western Swing with the Radio Rangers in the 1970's, Balkan and other Eastern European music with Ethnic Dance Theater, African Pop music with Shalita, and Klezmer music with Yiddishe Folksmenshn in the 1980's, Arabic Music with Layalli Sharque and Cassandra Shore's Jawaahir Orchestra and Persian music with Robayat in the 1990's, and he now plays with several bands, including Honeysuckle Rose, SunPlug'd, Voices of Sepharad, American Swedish Institute Spelmanslag, and Boiled in Lead.
He enjoys using music as a window into the world's many cultures, and playing with other fiddle players.
