Event information

The Young Fiddlers Association of Minnesota sponsors a series of events providing opportunities for young fiddlers to play music together and to learn new fiddle tunes. There are several workshops a year in which local fiddle teachers will introduce tunes in different traditions (i.e. Irish, Bluegrass, etc.). There are also several jam sessions, led by local teachers, where fiddlers play a variety of tunes informally. The tunes played in the workshops and jam sessions are recorded on a CD produced by the YFA so fiddlers can familiarize themselves with the music in advance.

Jam Sessions are free for members and $5.00 for non-members. Workshops are $40.00 for members and $45.00 for non-members.

The YFA also sponsors a three day fiddle camp in July which includes two contrasting fiddle styles and integrates the music with folk arts and dance. See the upcoming events for available details.

The workshops and jam sessions are generally held at the Tapestry Folkdance Center located at

Space is limited for both the workshops and the camp so early registration is recommended.
